Allow me to suggest that this insight, although discussed by you in the context of personal relationships, is important to remember in political and philosophical arguments. IIt may be possible to understand that much of the venom in discussion of current events is triggereed by aggrieved feelings, especially in the case of women and minorities. This has the unavoidable effect of triggerig defensiveness and anger in those being posited in the remarks as being dominant. The purportedly dominant persons, e.g., white males, raised from birth to see their dominant position as the natural order, start by seeing any challenge as being illegitimate. Everyone has to remember that each person has a perspective shaped by nature and nurture and must be reminded that others have different life experiences, and that reason works to persuade better than venom does.
