A great opportunity for Democrats to reach out to unregistered Americans

As I was standing in line to receive my second Covid-19 vaccination today, I took note of the fact that, even though I was more than a half hour early for my vaccination appointment at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, there were hundreds of people in line in front of me, and, by the time I reached the doors of the building a half hour later, hundreds more behind me. Although many people went to the location in groups, or formed groups in line while waiting, there were a number of people that were standing, bored, and just waiting to get into the building.

The line was substantially longer than it had been the first time I arrived. This reflected some peculiarities in the schedule caused by bad weather the previous week, but also reflected ever-growing interest in receiving the vaccine and the increasing number of doses of vaccine the Biden administration has been able to furnish to local governments.

News reports indicate that the number of locations being opened up to vaccinate the public is growing. More nonprofit organizations, local pharmacies and others are getting involved in the process. Nonetheless, there are still numerous mass vaccination sites.
