For years, Democrats have complained about the Koch brothers and other sources of great wealth giving an undeserved advantage to the GOP. We now have a candidate with more money than God’s rich uncle. Do you like a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives? Thank Bloomberg’s $100,000,000 spending on Democrats in 2018. His wealth helped turn Virginia blue last year. He has funded gun control and environmental efforts all over the country for years. He was born middle class. When he was 39 years old, he was laid off from a job. He bounced back rather well, didn’t he? Remember, both Biden and Sanders voted for the 1994 crime bill. So did many members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Most of those people rethought their views from that period. Bloomberg has said, I have been told, that he wants to give most of his money away during his life. Maybe he wants to improve his record before facing the Final Judge. Also, anyone tough enough to govern New York City for twelve years and, except for his relations with the minority community, seems to have done so very well, can dispatch Trump to Mar-a-Lago and handle Congressional Republicans. I am sick and tired of Democrats bringing a knife to a gunfight. Until campaign finance laws change, when you are in a jungle, fight like an animal. Now we can.
