George H.W. Bush went into Kuwait for a defined objective. He got the Iraqis out. He did not try to make Kuwait a democracy and a haven for feminism. We could have gone into Afghanistan to crush al Queda. Any Taliban forces foolish enough to attack us could have bern leveled. We will return to Afghanistan, and probably more than once-whenever terrorist groups grow to critical mass. We will “mow the lawn.” No nation likes foreign forces on its soil.
