I don’t know whose postings you read on Medium. There are countless postings here by people who have had life experiences and write about them. Would your response be different if it were a family member or a work colleague expressing homophobia? Are you saying people can’t write about anyone alive? It sounds as if you had a disclosure of some personal matter of your own in a different context.
