I hope the brief costumes work for the female athletes who wear them. I am a male with normal hormones and I can’t deny that looking at fit, toned female bodies is pleasant. However, the only rationale for the outfits worn by female beach volleyball players has to be the inhuman temperatures on the sand. I heard some matches were played in 110 degree heat. I fear that, in other sports, marketing to build a male audience seems to be the driving force for female sport apparel design.
