I respectfully suggest you misread what happened. Eric apparently felt he communicated his feelings toward you, which were strong. He also may have taken sex more seriously than you do. You have no problem having casual fun sex without commitment. You have every right to do so. I think Eric invests sex with more significance. He clearly did not communicate well. That doesn’t mean he was trying to control you.
