It is depressing-but not surprising-to read how Canada’s history with the First Nations and its French minority so closely parallels America’s experience with those persons here before the Europeans came and how America dealt with minorities. Of course, slavery of Afro-Americans was far greater here than it was in Canada. Even your brief article showed me how little I know of Canadian history before World War II. Since I have lived for most of those postwar years, I have a little knowledge of your recent history-but not enough. Keep writing. I’ll keep reading!
