It is my understanding that part of the 12 step recovery program for alcoholics is honesty. Another part is making amends for what you had done. You failed to notify his wife. You deprived her of the truth. You have not made amends. That failure allows the person who you cheated with to have a smooth and easy life and exposes not only him but also his wife to possible sexually transmitted diseases.
