It is relatively easy to teach boys that women have reasons to fear them. That can be incorporated into health classes in school. But how do you modify their behavior-taking “no” as the final (at that moment) answer? The problem is that men-and, unfortunately, too many women-are raised to idolize strength and decisiveness, where some women feign refusal to see if the man sees the woman as being worthy of being pursued and have to be overcome. There are not many models in film or on TV of men being honored for being gentlemen.
