Lauren, there are practical political and economic reasons for supporting Joe Biden’s nomination. He has the ability to relate to the white working class in a way no other Democrat can. I have been to the Scranton of his birth many times. I know people who live on the street where he first lived and have been there myself. I know that community. If any other Democratic aspirant came from a similar background, they have hidden it well. The left may be willing to write off his people. Many may in fact be the “deplorables” Hillary saw. But I think most aren’t. Look at the numbers. If Biden gets 20% of them, we will crush Trump. Remember, Hunter got his gig at the time Joe Biden was watching his older son die. Cut Joe Biden some slack. Biden has already announced anti-nepotism rules if he wins. Hunter left the job. Hunter was wrong. But, compared to Trump, Joe Biden looks like St. Francis of Assisi compared to Trump’s Lucifer.
