Secure Mail-In Voting Which Reduces USPS Costs

. The Trump Administration has made it clear that it will do anything and everything in its. power to make mail-in voting difficult or even impossible. Their defense is that they are doing this in order to reduce costs and maintain ballot security. An administration that wants to reduce costs and promote security would not remove mail sorting machines from post offices without placing them in other post offices which may need them more, or simply would supply additional mail sorting machines. The total lack of logic of these defenses is the best indication of the bad faith with which they are offered.

. In order to prove the lack of good faith of the Administration, I wish to offer my suggestion for a system that I suggest would remove virtually all doubt from the validity of votes mailed in and will guarantee they are timely delivered to the county offices to which they should be returned.

. First, the voter would obtain a mail-in ballot. In 41 states, as I understand, is necessary to apply for a mail-in ballot. I know that this is the situation in Pennsylvania. In nine states, I understand that these ballots are mailed automatically to every registered voter at the last address of the voter in the last election.

. Next, the voter would fill out the mail-in ballot and sign it in the appropriate places.

. Next, the voter would hand carry the ballot to the local post office.

. Next, the voter would hand the sealed ballot in its protective envelope to the postal…
