Some of the NBC commentators said many military units had not been paid in nine months because their superiors stole their pay. Corruption often prevented timely resupply of ammunition. It would appear that not enough outreach to the Pashtun community occurred. I feel terrible for all Afghans-especially women and girls. I hope we-at the very least-get Americans and our Afghan partners out. I also hope we admit every Afghan ally into the U.S. America will pay for the abandonment of Afghanistan for decades.
