Thank you for an informative, but depressing, article. Other than my course in domestic relations law in law school and handling one support case over 30 years ago, I’ve had no exposure to family law and the developments in that field. Your article affirmed by belief that, although I respect all women who make the choice be a full-time homemaker, and who find fulfillment doing that, it is foolhardy not to have a skill which can be quickly upgraded to secure employment or to begin a business should a spouse become economically required to do so because of death or divorce.
