This article and others dealing with Afro-American history are critically important. As is true of most white people my age, the story of Afro-Americans after the Civil War that was taught in school was, basically, Lincoln freed the slaves, the Klan took away their civil rights, they had an unpleasant life and then Thurgood Marshall and Earl Warren fixed most things, and LBJ and the Congress fixed the rest.

Not true!

Keep educating us!
