When the character in the movie said: “As one of the protagonists says, “a lot of these people in these communities feel like they’re not good enough … they don’t have a talent or skill that’s widely respected,” he gave both the diagnosis and the remedy. Less than half of Americans graduate from college-yet we teach all students as if they will be part of that minority. Germany and Scandinavia educate all of their citizens with the goal of having them employable for life. We might want to take a leaf out of their book.
