You are entitled to take any position you choose concerning Jane Fonda. Let me suggest that you are apparently accepting her version of what transpired in Vietnam as both honest and accurate. I respectfully suggest that both the passage of time and a justifiable sense of shame about her conduct might have affected her recollection. I also recall when she issued her original statement on her conduct in Hanoi. There was no apology initially. Some of the prisoners who said they were there and passed noted to her do not agree with what she is saying now. She may be doing admirable things now. The issue is not that she was against the war. Many decent, patriotic Americans opposed the war. But most anti war Americans didn’t go to Vietnam, meet with representatives of their government and speak against the American position on enemy soil. She did.
